Exploratory Focus Groups:
Exploratory focus groups are only helpful if they
provide an in-depth discussion and exchange on customer
needs and new concepts or products. While most
exploratory focus groups follow a structured discussion
guide that does not include peer-to-peer interactions,
Metaplan’s approach ensures that all participants voice
their opinions. The focus is on relevant subject matter,
and the meeting is kept engaging and interactive from
beginning to end in order to find new ideas and
solutions. Metaplan’s methodology utilizes a variety of
exercises targeting the specific objectives of the
research. The discussion elicits a range of ideas,
attitudes, experiences, and opinions in an iterative
way. Our clients have found that this process drives the
participants to offer creative and pragmatic solutions,
as well as a variety of different perspectives to test
hypotheses and create insights for new directions.
